Elvis Lives! Bringing the Rock n Roll

We’ve been working together for months now. I’ve gotten to meet such wonderful people and am surrounded by schooled Music Majors, talented minds and a long history of friendships and love that surpass any possible expectations. This show is going to be magic.

Clint is a well-known Elvis performer who takes his job very seriously. He can mimic and embody MANY performers such as Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong and more. Any time he hits the stage, the audience doesn’t know what voice is going to come out. It’s truely fantastic. Did I mention he is a wonderfully kind man? Yeah, that too.

Our studio at DKP Company is a sweet little spot in town. We’ve really enjoyed getting to know eachother here, have had lots of laughs and building this Elvis vision.

This post is just a quick note to show you whats to come. We are booking casinos and will begin serious travel in January 2014. This Elvis show is like non other and the Casinos are really pumped to have us dazzle their patrons…and we are extremely thrilled to have the opportunity.

I’ll post behind the scenes during this Elvis journey, Clints Fan Club updates and all the crazy events, we are all experiencing together. We are slowly becoming like a family. I am so honored to be a back-up singer with a band who wants to honor The King of Rock n Roll. He lives! Welcome to our world.DSC_0149 DSC_0151 DSC_0015

What do you do when you lose your car? Spa! (Part 2)

Now that you’ve read my repo-prep Part 1, here is what happened the day-of…plus a little fun intro—enjoy! Because it’s just not worth stressin’ over…life happens. Laugh anyway.

Why mope around and sulk? Why allow feelings of negativity, sadness, helpless or failure creep in? You and I both know those choices lower your immune system and invite you to gracefully bow-out of life into the unforgiving sick-bed. NO THANK YOU to that hot mess!

I called the towing company a couple of days before to arrange for the car pick-up, so I made sure to clean out the vehicle and drink lots of water to help calm possible upset nerves or stomach.(see previous post) To avoid mental distractions, I chose not to mention the arrangement to anyone until the day-of, when I let my husband know that today was D-day. In the interim, I had insured he had lots of water too. Also, he’d wanted a colonic, and I knew the day after he’d had his first session, he would be tired or as I like to call it, the “colonic day of rest” would hit, so I’d hoped this would happen the day the towing truck would arrive to take away the car. It did. Let’s just say he was very relaxed…no extra stress was taking my man down! 🙂

As for myself, I was looking forward to an inexpensive DIY spa treatment.

SO…for all of you out there who are singing, “oops I lost my house” or “dang I lost my job” and in my case “frankincense and mir! I’ve lost my holiday-ride!” take this tip from me. Take care of yourself & do it, the old-fashioned way. If you have a partner, be sure to get them in on the spa-action too. Be creative, you’ll both need a bit of TLC mixed in with some of these spa-treatment ideas and moments to relax. Things happen in life, but don’t let it take you down.

p.s. Hugs go a loooooooong way.

This is what I did: (hope you like the pics too)

#1=Work out, more water and more work out! My husband and I hit the gym. (yep, he rallied even after his first ever colonic visit…he’s superman.) Remember: liquids + vitamins.

#2=Let the Spa begin!

  • Time to drain! As a singer, I have to sing even when I can’t talk, so that means I need tricks up my vocal-chord “sleeve” in order to allow the show to go on. One way is this helpful invention called NeilMed Nasel flow, which is a Neti-pot system. I’d had my hubby do this (with our filtered water OF COURSE!) a couple of days before, so he didn’t get run down. Today was my turn and that is how I decided to start my spa treatment session!

No joke...it's awekward, but TOTALLY worth it! Keeps me healthy so I can still sing

Neti-pot love: It’s pretty easy. Boil water in your tea-pot (we have the best water filter ever, but I boil it anyway. It’s more peace of mind and it feels better luke-warm rather than cold water…yuck). Mix the saline solution packet & water in the blue pot. Place spout comfortably in one nostril, tilt head and let it flow! My throat, ears and nose always feel a lot better. I wouldn’t recommend this on a spa-day if you’ve never done it before, but it was a great beginning to my afternoon of treatments for my body-care and needs.

  • After my nose was feeling the saline-neti-pot-love, it was time to focus on my hair. Get the hair prepped for a shiny new start with Baking Soda! I chose really simple DIY Spa treatments.

Just a spoon full of Baking Soda and drops of filtered water will help the relaxation medician go down!

Hair Paste: Mix together filtered water and Baking soda to create a paste. Put paste all over damp hair, pile hair on top of head and set timer for 20 minutes. Let mixture sit in hair. This is GREAT for removing gunk, dindge & unwanted product build-up! It was kind of messy, but an easy clean up.

  • My hot water was already warmed up from the epi-pot and ready for my face steaming session, so all I needed now was a spoon full of sugar…yum! I quickly (and easily) put together the body & face scrubs. See below.

Brown Sugar, Olive Oil and honey makes the body go wow

Here’s the body scrub: Brown sugar, olive oil & honey. There are MANY DIY scrubs to choose from, but again~I was keeping it simple. I made sure there was a nice balance of brown sugar to olive oil…I like more brown sugar then liquids…and then added a tsp or so of honey. Doesn’t it look glorious?!

Here’s the facial exfoliant (below): Brown sugar and honey. The picture is before they are mixed together (I used my ring finger to mix & apply to my face right before my shower.) Pretty simple huh? I set both mixers off to the side ready for later use. I still had my hair to wait for and I knew exactly what to do while waiting…

Honey and Brown Sugar!

  • Time to steam! To open the pores in my face and get ready for the wonderful sugar exfoliant awaiting me in the bathroom, I used my previously heated water as well as created a relaxing atmosphere. Grab something that takes you to a happy place that can participate somehow visually during your steam session. I chose a hand cockade heat-pad to put my steam bowl on. It was made by my grandmother and was a gift from her. When I saw it, I felt better, so I used it. I put some tranquil music on lightly in the background. I knew I had wonderful goodness waiting for me in the bathroom and my husband was recovering/resting in the bedroom. The kitchen dishes were stacked and ready to be washed later and I was ready to let life go for the next 5-8 minutes.

Hot filtered water, nestagia and let the steam facial begin.

Get Steamed: My grandmothers creme colored heat pad is placed under a clean pan I have. I grabbed some bright and cheery colored cloths to drape over my head and trap the steam in as well as a smaller cloth to dab my face. (choose more soothing colors if you’d like, just pay attention to what you are attracted to…listen!) Place large cloth over and behind head, drape to the sides of bowl while hovering over steamy water. Allow steam to comfortably breeze over face and let outside air in as desired. Breath slowly, calmly and release muscles in face and throat and finally the rest of the body. Clear mind and enjoy.

I took the face steam items to the bathroom with me. Here’s how it went and let me just say, I felt WONDERFUL afterwords.

  1. Mix facial scrub and begin lightly massaging mixture in circular motion on face, being careful of eye area and the tender skin there. My face was damp from the steam, so this process was heavenly. Rinsed off hands & pat dry.
  2. Lightly dry-scrub entire body with a small natural sponge using circular motions. Started at top of feet, up the legs, to the mid-section and ending finally at the upper body. A good dry-scrub helps flex off dry layers of skin as well as stirs the skins’ circulation-pot to get the blood flowing and ready for a nice showered sugar scrub.
  3. Put body scrub in shower, shut-off 20 minute hair timer & started the shower. My face was brown with my scrub, my hair was white with baking soda paste, my nose was draining from its earlier irrigation & I was NOT thinking of my repo. (I bet you forgot just now too huh?!) Time to get in the shower!
  4. Circular motions to help rinse off face, rinsed hair and then used my sugar scrub for the body. I would recommend concentrating on hand and interlaced finger massaging with the scrub and hitting the nails too. Of course be sure to scrub your toes and any rough areas. Scrub it all people!
  5. Rinse well to get all the sticky off!
  6. Pat dry
  7. Drink water & tea

The results?

AMAZING!

I’ve never done this before and not only did I feel and see the awesome results for days (so did my husband), but I was relaxed and happy. I didn’t use a bunch of expensive chemicals on myself & I didn’t hurt the environment. I woke up my husband after I had taken care of myself, got him some water and he took care of the dishes for me. Then he enjoyed the sugar scrub too and used it up. Later, he and I went out and picked up my new-to-me used vehicle and when we returned home, the repo-man had come. That was that and THAT was alright with us. The rest of the night was … well spent. 😉

#3. Picked up my new used car from a friends house…making payments and fixing it up now.

#4. Remember…challenges equal opportunity.

Hope this helps you all too.

What to do when you lose your car? Celebrate! (Part 1)

So what do you do when you lose your car???

I made the tough decision to call my auto loan provider and give up my car. What a rough time for folks and I, yet again, joined the ranks of those fighting for their rights to drive, own property and in general enjoy financial stability. I made many creative attempts and raged a big fight to keep my vehicle, but it was not meant to be. It was hello tow-truck driver, good-bye car.  I have to say though, the bank was very happy I called and requested a pick-up date. Apparently, that outreach effort on my part reflects well. Instead of waiting for them to grab your car in the middle of the night, they prefer a customer who is upfront and honest. Making repo-arrangements & honesty actually is the better way to go…finally. They were very nice on the phone too. But boy, did I need some TLC & love, so…I made a quick list of things I wanted to do before the good car was gone.

  1. Run as many errands as possible, which there are way too many to list, but even all those stupid little things that needed to be dropped-off, picked-up or the someday I’ll do that was taken care of…and in a hurry. Here’s your Tupperware mom! Love you!
  2. Get all of my belongings outta there! This sounds like a “duh” thing to say, but have you removed EVERYTHING from your car…I mean EVERYTHING? Even when you think you have, there’s that one thing tucked away in that one corner spot of that part of the car you hardly ever go to or use. BUT, it’s still there and you WILL need it someday, so I triple checked. Even after my 3 check, I was laying in bed and remembered another spot! I almost forgot I had my jumper cables, gloves and other odds & ends tucked in with my spare tire! FEW!
  3. Get plywood cut for sagging mattress…it worked!!! mattress is salvaged for the time being!
  4. Make sure hubby has colonic appointment made before repo is scheduled to happen…I’ll explain this in part 2!
  5. Visit Christmas tree farms because they make me happy. Go back to the farm that was one of the first places my hubby and I went together while dating. Very nostalgic and soothing. We found a 5 ft noble with a defect which made it less spendy. What a surprise! Thank you big trunk…perfect fit. (Oh No … tree base! Picked that up too.)
  6. Decorate tree together and watch a great movie; Finding Forester…I love my man.
  7. Thoughts of a spa day began flitting about in my mind…hummmm….

Enjoy the moments…whatever the ride!

Trees are amazing

Trees are amazing

Nature helps EVERYTHING

Nature helps EVERYTHING (conflicted about them being cut, but … it worked.)

Just walking around beautiful trees lifted our spirits~Before the car was repossessed, we took a deformed 5 ft tree home.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

So this is musical life!

Much musical magic has manifested over the past couple of months. From the start of this music blog (for those of you who are new, please read the ABOUT page to catch up on the current projects) to me flying to Maui, as I type out this sentence. And like this opening paragraph, life is full of many m-filled moments.

Mmmm Mmmmm good…

“You’ve got to learn to take the good with the bad…

the bad makes the good that much better”

Someone told me that once (or twice) and I have taken it to heart.

As most of you know my past will thankfully stay in the past (we say hallelujah!) and I choose to see life for the possibilities that it holds. So, here we are folks! Here is a fantastic update in ila Selene music land, while I fly a bazillion miles in the air!

Blog started in January 2012 to reach a personal goal of learning 5 instruments & recording 5 styles of music posted…all to be as the year progresses.

*Styles chosen thus far: Country & Jazz! (Read past postings!)

*Local church musicians/choirs are talking about ideas

*Musical instruments chosen so far: ukulele, flute & harmonica (read past postings!)

*Networking here in Southern Oregon and Worldwide. Friends in Africa, & Australia now and all around the USA, who are 100% on-board!

*Many local photographers will donate to this project!

*Video fear over! (I never wrote about it, but I had big issues to overcome with being video taped.)

*I’ve lost 10 lbs! (Being healthy = better music)

*A local Jazz festival has brought me on as their Public Relations Director!

*The Bathtub Gin Serenaders that I sing with are planning to record soon!

*Working on getting kids involved…super pumped about that

Now I need you! I need so many more people involved! I really can’t tell you where this will “go” but for those out there that it makes sense to spend some time doing what you are passionate about, with someone you may never meet in person, I implore you to step out! I’m offering my talents. I’m offering my time. I’m offering my passions. Weather it’s your desire to write songs or help videotape musicians who are in separate countries for music videos, I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU! The next steps are easy…NETWORK! NETWORK! NETWORK! So…

Who are you? What creativeness would you like to try? Can you pass my blog information on to your families & friends? Are you a professional and want to work on something outside of your comfort zone just for the LOVE (or hell) of it?! Ask yourself, when was the last time you did something bigger than yourself? Besides…I’m a nice person, so … yaye!!! You can do it!

Not wise, but…

I’m sure it’s not wise, but I’m typing while soak in a warm and candle lit bath. It’s lovely! Remarkably my toes are doing the happy dance, so this informs me that although in idea form these choices do no seem a good fit, truly…they are! Splendid!

My phone continues to text at me…I hear it down the hall. I suppose I should have turned that off. Oh well! My toes still happily dance, so Que serra Serra! Candles & a lap top…this is heaven.

So true of modern day romance. Whether in bed with someone or in a bath with the entire Planet, typing away…technology and all it’s toys abound. Instead of me and my thoughts, it’s my and my laptops! Beside you & me in bed is you & T.V. and so on and so forth…but using these tools to produce good is the essential to staying sane.

The old When to say When, comes to mind…it’s a new discipline we all have to learn when it comes to literally “shutting down” or “turning off.” Back away…put down the technology!

(note: computer balancing removes fingers from bathtub equation…sweat in the eyes REALLY hurts! OUCH…need bathtub laptop holder…if there is such a thing.)

My romance with music has been no different. Any blogger will tell you, keeping up with life and blogging is a challenge due to time constraints more often than not. A possible brain-freeze, but really it’s about lack of time. While the musical experience is discovered and unfolding before my very eyes, much like a romance to my heart, technology blasts into the picture. E-mailing other musicians, texting that one musical genius who never seems to get back to you without 20 calls their way first, becoming that musician (not-so-genius) who never seems to get back to people unless they are called 50 times (what? I’m not perfect!), typing out lyrics (mostly though, I still write due to the connection to paper that is irreplaceable when I write songs/poems/design) and then there is recording and production, iphone collaborations and more!

Finally comes blogging…

Sometimes I am able to, what I like to call, Pre-Blog, which is blog during the actual event and not allow the event to stop it’s forward motion and reach a wonderful musical climax. Mostly though, it’s blog after the activity is done.

So whats a girl to do? I mean, if my musical romance is mid-term interrupted with pre-blog, then it tends to decline the organic moments of creativity and lushness. If I wait too long to reach for my technical blogging-buddy (laptop…you sick-o minds out there!) the timing must be cherry in order for the blog to be blog-tastic!

Music my love…we have a third party involved with us now. Would you do what you did with all the other new comers like that of the pen, paper, microphone & recording devises and teach them your ways, so our romance is subtle, close, aggressive or strong without interruption. P.S. Music, I love you.

Well, I guess only time will tell the story for us all. As usual…it’s all about good, great and perfect timing. Timing is truly everything. BLESS YOU drummers and bass players…

It’s about time I get outta this bath too…FEEEW!

Strike a chord…I’m a wreck!

**I am not the type of person to cry at the drop of a hat…but something struck a chord in me today…

As you all know the arts can be a very emotional journey and hopefully if we are open to it, very healing. I can’t stop the tears right now as I am mixed with sadness and beauty all at once…completely overwhelmed.

During the recent karaoke contest I helped judge, there was a singer with such a sweet disposition and unique voice with such intense emotional passion almost bottled up inside of him, I found myself entranced with his simplistic, quite  beauty. I was so taken by his voice and overall demeanor, that I asked an audience member to grab his phone number for me as I wanted to speak with him later. He didn’t place in the final round of karaoke singers, but my ears could not erase the mystifying sounds that came from him. He was a humble man, didn’t have the grace to move across the stage like others in the competition, but still….there was something grand inside of him I saw.

I gave him my business card. I’d hoped I would have heard from him by now, but with no e-mail showing up as of last night, I chose to give him a ring today. He was flabbergasted that I called him and listening intently as I described my blog and personal challenge I had given myself. I told him I heard something special in his voice and really wanted him to consider a duet with me and we dialogued a bit.

And then…he says,

” Well, I don’t get out much … I don’t even know why I joined the karaoke contest. I don’t know when I will be able to get to a project like this…” He paused and rambled a little then said, “We just had my wifes memorial on Saturday.”

I sat silently, stunned. I listened. I gave my condolences and flashed back to how intensely he sang the love songs during the finals…every word of love and adoration so pure and genuine. He was singing it to her.

I know nothing about this man, but my heart aches for him and at the same time my heart swells with understanding of what he chose to do. He chose to sing to his bride and use music for its true intent…to cross time, bring people together and heal. wow. He literally sang threw his confusion, sadness and loss; using music and those around him that he knew respect it, to express his love and be closer to her.

I asked if this was expected, and with a hush, he said, “no…it was quit the surprise…”

I told him about a local hotline he could call for those times he may need it and let him know they were open 24 hours a day. (I used to help homeless kids remember? I hope it helps him.) We spoke more about the musical project and he said after a while, it sounds like something he would want to try out. Then he said, “although, I’m just a small choir boy.” I told him I saw something special and hoped I’d hear from him again. After one more word of condolences, we hung up the phone. I raced to blog as my mind raced. But as soon as my fingers touched the keyboard, I lost it…completely caught off guard and overwhelmed with the purity of it all…the amazing thing I was just apart of…it was the only response I had to the power of people together and music as its conduit and tool.

The karaoke crowd had all cheered him on, completely unaware of his journey. His spirit and message will be in these C.D.’s.

Torn apart church makes beautiful music…mmmm

When I started this musical journey, I never imagined the amount of focus and energy I would give to it, especially due to adding this accountability of blogging. I never imagined it would open up such personal insight. I knew re-opening my vocal cords and re-teaching myself the vocal techniques I had learned during my time in formal education, would be much like dusting off a fine painting, fit with Goddy frame. Crevises so deep that some of the dust would never come out, but instead of ruining the piece, it simply enhanced it. I knew it would be a long physical and emotional path. Still, I sit here and shake my head at the recent events and how it has all unfolded.

At a non-profit show to help children, I was asked to be the featured vocalist. I love children, so that was an easy committment. I walked threw the doors of the church, which had been rented for the special event, and noticed the warning tape across what looked to be the sanctuary doors. I have to admit, some funny thoughts and jokes popped into my mind instantly. Quickly after though, I wondered why the construction tape was drapped across the doors. I tabled the curiosity and moved ahead to the task ahead.

At the non-profit show, I had a wonderful time, met stunning people and enjoyed pushing myself to sing one of my original songs that is very dear to my soul.  There were too many beautiful moments to type out, but all I can say is I am so glad I stepped out and did something for others…I mean really, when does that usually go bad? Maybe if you do it too much or try to take on too much too quickly, I suppose. This was just enough of an out of my comfort dynamic mixed with security. People cried from the impact they felt from the songs and the lovely pianist was magnificent, per her usual.

Then the abandoned sanctuary came back to mind. You see, earlier the pianist and I snuck into the sanctuary because she was told there were pianos in there among the construction rubble where we could practice. Well, we are both pretty curious Sprites, so investigate we simply HAD TO! We removed the yellow barriers and cracked open the door to reveal an amazing sight. The warm toned sunlight streamed in from the tinted windows, tools and wires tossed about and in the middle of it all, sat two large items covered by blue furniture blankets. They were baby grand pianos! Our heads swung from right to left and up and down trying to visually take in the construction scene. I was instantly became very intrigued by my pianists response to the room. Our heads bobbed from side to side,  but her countenance was that of a fuller connection. She looked like she was watching memories fly in front of her eyes. I listened to her say the words, “This was my old church…this is the place I grew up in.” I said nothing as she walked over to the covered pianos and pulled back the blanket. It was a beautiful medium colored wood. Then she said, “and this was my first piano.” Even now, I am appreciative and privileged to be apart of that moment.

She pulled back the covering to reveal the keys of her old love and began to play. My entire chest cavity awoke with the grand sound that was produced! The room seemed to fill with a musical mix of colors; deep purple-blues. I listened and glazed across the room, then thought of how appropriate this was for the both of us. Where we were in our individual lives and where we’d both come from. Instantly, I want to record her playing her old piano, in the middle of the wreck of carpet, nails and wood. She is rather logical by nature, so for this moment to happen was fantastic and compelled me to capture it. At that, I stood back and joined in with song.

Later that night, I brought the conversation of the recording idea up to see how we could make it happen. I was too excited for words and with every moment became more excited when I saw others get behind the idea.

Through a series of amazing events and availability of others, we returned the next morning to record. This time, we had a professional photographer, video cameras and audio recording capturing our organic creativity. We didn’t talk about what to wear or any details of even what to play…we just wanted to be there in that short moment before the construction continued the next Monday and we would be cut-off from this place of transition. Even now I feel emotion…no matter what is restructuring is taking place around us, we can find rest in restlessness and beauty in the rebuilding.

It’s funny how things work out and fall into place sometimes.

As an old author friend of mine used to say, “build on your rubble.” I’d like to add….and build with your rubble wherever you can.

Centeries part us; music binds us

A little Marilyn Monroe, antique glass washboard, apple computer, sun shine, music binders and stacks of CD’s can create quite the environment for a pleasant walk down memory lane! Months ago I lost all of my iTunes music…a painful reality….and thus took the time to re-enter all of my music beauties. For those new to this blog, my 2012 New Years resolution challenge (that’s why I’m even on this WordPress; documenting it all) is all about music and I needed my music to work well in my computer. I need my jazz, country, R&B, Soul, Jug, Classical, Easy Listening, Latin, Dance, and sounds of the ocean! O.k. well, I didn’t NEED the ocean waves for my musical challenge, but boy oh boy isn’t it grand to fall asleep to at night. (sigh)

I have had some of these CD’s for far too many years to count and it was divine holding them in my hand again. Digital music is convenient, but the feeling of dusty CD’s was actually refreshing and fantastic. I recently had the same opportunity with a bunch of old records I found at a garage sale and was able to transfer their timeless treasures to digital. (They were lost as well unfortunately when my iTunes crashed) The records were not as emotional for me to hold in my hands though, since I didn’t have the history with the physical, but I did dance around the living room with glee when the songs they held came to life. I don’t want to forget those happy responses, so if you are feeling like a break, let me suggest doing something like this. You won’t regret it!

During this downloading frenzy, I had to use my time wisely, so I bounced around the house taking care of little “to-do’s” but when I was forced to sit down in order to input the next CD, life slowed and memories opened.

I was flooded with memories. Birthday gifts, moments of surprise, garage sales finds, spur of the moment shopping, special events, shows, funerals, and even a “I really have no idea where this came from?!” The day flew by like this; hours upon hours. I got a lot done around the house, on-line, with music and in my heart. Moments like this:

I hurried downstairs to the wash and raced back up for the next input of CD…then boom! There was a song I hadn’t  heard in a while…it’s amazing how a smell, a sound or song can punch you in the stomach.

It’s why I am doing this challenge. I’m compelled to. The arts have given me hours of free therapy and I hope to do the same for someone else with my music and all my efforts. Dusting off the old albums I hadn’t literally touched in a while, reminded me of the timeless truth. We need each other, though centuries part us, music binds us.

Meet someone new=make music 2gether!

We met this traveling kid (23 years old or so) traveling through the area. So OF COURSE we just HAD to jam with him for a bit…it was fun! Step out and say hi to someone new today. 😉

ENJOY!

We have his information, so I hope to put him on some of the songs when it comes time to record! You never know who you will meet….so get out there! You might make some beautiful music together.

It’s going to be Country…Yeee haa darlin!

Thanks for the comments thus far about my personal musical challenge! I’ve been speaking with musicians I know and word is getting out. How wonderful! Please be sure to start from the beginning of this blog, so that you can catch-up on what’s happened thus far and where I’m (soon to be “we”) are headed.I also posted my very first blog under “Who am I?” and permanently to the right of the main blog page. This is my first blog as well, so be kind please…I’m a new-bee. Now for the UPDATE: The first of five music styles has been selected!

NEXT: Country! I’ve been told I have the heart for country music, so I have chosen that as one of the five styles I will record this year! I love how down-home country music is and yet stylistically open and down-right REAL this music can be. It holds history (wisdom), heart and dedication, which are all attributes I admire in an individual, so that’s why I can put passion behind this honored musical style. Many respected people have sung it and all the same folks love listening to it, it’s family, it’s heart and it’s passion.  It’s simply…Country.

I’ve been listening to Patsy Cline, a little Walk the Line (Johnny Cash), Elvis, Willie Nelson, Miranda Lambert, Lady Antebellum, Martina McBride, Carrie Underwood, Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, Bonnie Raitt…just to name a few. I’ve had so many childhood memories and have been absolutely inspired since re-listening to these beauties! Lyrics can kick you in the stomach at times! If you have any young memories of country music, like I do, I suggest you take a walk down memory lane..you won’t regret it. 🙂

I have a few country music friends, so we are chatting about possibilities, but I am always up for new friendships! Any suggestions would be great! (Of course copy-wrights will be a deterrent at times, I’m sure.)

A country duet is a MUST-HAVE, drop a line at my web site http://www.ilaselenemusic.com

Happy 2012 everyone! Keep it rollin’

My current favorites…I fall to Pieces and When God Fearin’ Woman Get the Blues! (can’t ever stop thinking about Johnny Cash too of course)
